Go-Getter or Master Procrastinator?
In all aspects of life — personal achievement, relationships, business or health — it’s the go-getters who ultimately will triumph. Successful people at the top of every profession typically share one quality — they get things done. This ability supersedes intelligence, talent and connections in determining the size of their salaries and the speed of their advancement.
Some people are go-getters and some are master procrastinators.
Procrastinating means to avoid what needs to be done. Procrastinating is doing anything other than what you should be doing. This form of self-sabotage plays itself out by putting off today what you know you’ll never get around to doing tomorrow. We all procrastinate. The level of your procrastination dramatically determines your success and income.
The best way to figure out if you’re a go-getter or master procrastinator is to check for evidence. What did you do today, yesterday and the day before that? Consistency drives your progress and results.
Go-getters are organized, persistent and energetic and know exactly how to move from one project to another effortlessly and without hesitation. Procrastinators flounder in a world of disorganization and inaction – jumping from one project to another and never working until completion.
Procrastination is a choice. When something is really important, you find the time to act upon it immediately! We all have the same number of hours in a day; some choose to spend them efficiently.
Procrastination among salespeople and business owners is raging! They’re consistently avoiding difficult tasks and deliberately looking for distractions. When not dealt with and met head on, it will ruin sales careers and take down a business.
If you want to increase your income and close more sales, you have to push past the urge to procrastinate. Move into action, whether you feel like it or not! You can’t put off a money-making activity today and expect to be motivated to do it tomorrow.
There are countless reasons why people procrastinate. Then justify why they can’t do something and why their business isn’t producing results. Here a few of the many reasons: “I ran out of time,” “I’ll get to it later,” “I have so much on my plate,” “I’m crazy busy,” or “I forgot.” The list goes on but the theme is the same; someone or something else got in the way of doing what needed to be done. The truth is they’re doing exactly what they want to be doing – procrastinating. We’re all doing exactly what we want to be doing in almost any moment.
Life is nothing but a series of choices. Those choices lead to good or bad results. They generate profit or loss. Procrastination is an expensive habit. In any moment we’re either procrastinating or producing results. The choice is yours: move into action or procrastinate and stay stuck in mediocre income.
No one can force you into action. No one can move your feet for you. Is your business growth being stunted by procrastination? You and only you make the change and create the results. Don’t waste another moment, day or year not taking action. You are responsible for your business and your bottom line. What are you waiting for?
