Despite the airline industry’s best efforts to encourage brand loyalty and to convince passengers that paying for checked bags is logical, most Americans do not favor any specific airline. A new poll, conducted for TheStreet by GfK, took a look at consumer preferences when it comes to flying.

As Ecommerce Grows, So Does Opportunity for Brands to Strengthen Loyalty

Nearly half of consumers surveyed feel that brand loyalty depends on the experiences brands create for them. According to Analytic Partners, female consumers (68%) are generally more loyal to brands than males (55%). As ecommerce continues to grow in popularity, new methods for consumer interaction are becoming a must for brands that want to strengthen retention and loyalty efforts, said Nancy Smith, founder and CEO of Analytic Partners.

Tween Brand Loyalty Keyed By Parental Approval

According to new research by marketing agency Smarty Pants, children ages 6-12 gravitate towards iconic, familiar, inclusive, and parent- approved brands. Cross-generational appeal is important as kids want their parents’ approval and parents want their kids to be happy. Affordability is also a top 10 driver of kid affinity since it “increases the likelihood you can buy it with your own money or your mom will buy it for you.”
