Farmers Markets Receive Funds for Promotional Programs

The US Department of Agriculture recently demonstrated its commitment to the future of farmers markets with a $3.5 million grant. The grant was made to specific state and local agencies as well as to individual farmers markets. In all cases, the recipients are expected to use the funds to 'establish, expand and promote farmers markets.' Check out the recipient list to see if there are operators in your area who need assistance to develop a campaign to market their goods to consumers.
