If you think about it, a first sales conversation is a lot like a first date. You don’t know the other person that well, there’s some anxiety involved, and you hope to make a connection. And, just like during a first date, the conversation is vital.
Being able to speak to a sales prospect is nice, but the ability to converse with them is what is going to fully engage them in the sales process and increase your chances of earning their business.
You’ve got strengths and weaknesses – things you like working on and things you’d like to never have to do again. If one of the tasks you find yourself avoiding is talking with your team members, you’ll have to address this problem.
