Get your flower wreaths and sunscreen ready! Festival season is upon us, and CheapTickets​.com, a leading seller of discounted travel products and event tickets, has identified the top ten most popular summer music festivals across the United States, with Lollapalooza in Chicago and the CMA Music Festival in Nashville topping the list.

A recent CheapTickets​.com survey suggests locals aren't the only ones attending star-​studded festivals, as nearly two-​thirds of Americans said they would travel for an event. With regional fans and out-​of-​towners alike flocking to the festivities, it's no surprise demand is high.

AudienceSCAN reveals 56% of Music Festival Attendees are female, with 24% of total attendees ranging in age from 25 to 34. Also, Music Festival Attendees are 51% more likely than average consumers to be aged 18 to 24.

These are the top music festivals based on demand on CheapTickets​.com occurring between May 27 through August 30. Traveling festivals were not considered.

Hotels, campgrounds, and the hospitality industry in general, should target Music Fest Attendees with sponsored search results (like on Google, Yahoo or Bing). These concert travelers will be searching for places to stay – and often at the last minute. AudienceSCAN reports 37% of Music Festival Attendees took action based on SEO results in the past 30 days.

"These events are a big tourist draw, so average hotel and air prices during the festival weekends can get steep, but there are still smart ways to save," said Justine McDonald, a CheapTickets​.com travel expert.

Event promoters, bars and restaurants should air the siren call to Musical Festival Attendees via the radio waves. According to AudienceSCAN data, 27.4% of Music Festival Attendees took action after hearing radio spots (over-​the-​air, online, mobile or tablet) in the past month!
