Restaurant Menu and Drink Trends in 2009

If your restaurant and bar clients are looking for new ways to boost business, remind them to advertise the top trends for 2009. According to Benchmark Hospitality International, consumers will want to spend on the following products when they dine out:

  • Local – consumers are seeking local and organically grown ingredients
  • Sliders – the new comfort food whether they contain the highest-grade beef or grilled veggies
  • Offal – as in meat products related to liver and sweetbreads
  • Small – reduced portion sizes but increased emphasis on seasonal ingredients and healthier fare

Suggest a working lunch at your client’s place of business and review the menu as you strategize about the best ways to market what they’re selling.
