Transportation/Warehousing Revenues Are Growing

by

The latest US Census Bureau report on the trucking industry indicates an overall growth rate of 3.2% between 2006 and 2007. That number may have tumbled in 2008 but your trucking clients would still want to know that the following business segments generated double-digit demand for trucking services:

  • Grain, alcohol and tobacco products
  • Coal and petroleum
  • Pharmaceutical/chemical products

In addition, the largest growth rate, 4.9%, came in the storage and warehousing segment. In 2009, and beyond you may find your trucking clients expanding into warehousing and storage or pitching clients in the pharmaceutical industry. Is your firm ready to help them market these new services?
