Rapid Growth Predicted in the Carrier Ethernet Switch/Router Market – Think WiMax

The Carrier Ethernet Switch/Router or the CESR market has no shortage of companies developing new products and services, especially when it comes to WiMax. The next generation in wireless networking, WiMax technology, allows subscribers to stay connected to a network both at home and up to several miles away. SprintNextel introduced its first WiMax network service in Baltimore, MD last week and expects to offer the service in other cities within the next few months. This new technology competes directly with the existing 3G capability that currently enables mobile data services. WiMax proponents believe speed and lower costs will challenge the large market lead currently held by 3G devices. Either way, manufacturers of Carrier Ethernet Switch/Router hardware face a bright future.

Ad agencies could find opportunity in the btob and btoc sectors of this industry.
