"Younger Americans are eager to eat and drink out in public again," says CNBC. "Eating out was the only activity a majority of young Americans surveyed were willing to resume immediately."

55% of Americans between the ages of 16 and 35 say that, as soon as the quarantines in their states are lifted, they'll go back to dining out, with another 16% saying that they'll wait a few more months before following suit.

Going to the gym or concerts, traveling and attending large events are all activities that these consumers are happy to wait to do until long after a COVID-19 vaccine is available.

Why? 57% of Gen Zers and millennials are taking the COVID-19 outbreak very seriously. And most have no problem telecommuting for work and doing most of their shopping online.

Restaurants can entice Generation Z to attend their dine-in reopenings using digital advertisements. Last year, according to AudienceSCAN, these consumers took action after seeing ads on social networks, sponsored search results and internet banner ads.

AudienceSCAN data is available for your applications and dashboards through the SalesFuel API.
