Challenge: Getting a home medical services ad campaign in front of customers

Haley Johnson, a multiple time Sell Smarter! Award winner from Fox21, knew she could help a local business with a compelling home medical services ad campaign that would get in front of people, but she also knew it might take some time.

[This] was a six-month process in the making,” said Johnson. “Their [previous] marketing company did not deliver what they promised. Not one [person] saw their ads or commercials.”

Solution: Create a campaign using AdMall’s health intelligence research

Crafting a home medical services campaign that would get in front of consumers was no quick, easy task. Given the prospect’s previous experience with advertising, Johnson pointed out that it took nearly all of 2024 for the sale to close. That said, Johnson knew that AdMall’s data would help her stand apart from her competition.

I love to take the AdMall’s research to the clients because I am a very analytical person, and I like to bring my clients numbers and explanations for the campaigns that I put together,” said Johnson.

The media [spending] charts are a huge selling point for me to show the client the tactics that will work best for their target audience. Not only that, I was able to use the Home Medical Equipment Services report as well to help explain how I broke up this detailed [home medical services ad] campaign.”

Result: A mixed media type 2025 campaign ready to roll

Johnson’s home medical services ad campaign is already off to a hot start.

We began by running a sports schedule this year as well as their City Cab recruitment campaign, and they are very happy with both of these, and the results have been ‘fantastic,’" said Johnson.

The 2025 campaign total was for $160,000. And since this isn’t Johnson’s first, or last, Sell Smarter! Award victory, she has some advice for other sales reps looking to leverage AdMall’s research in their sales routines.

I use this platform with every presentation that I do,” said Johnson. “I either print some of the pages, or I will walk through the platform with the client in front of me which builds trust because it is being very transparent with the research that we have. I would recommend this platform to another sales rep and explain to them that it is a fantastic tool to book your campaign.”

AdMall’s Local Account Intelligence Report is available for over 400+ business types and provides a myriad of research from the local, state and national level. It is the baseline report a rep should run before their first sales call that will put them on a level playing field with a potential client.

Everything from market demographics, consumer spending, marketing/budget figures, top products sold, industry challenges and opportunities, and more can be found in this report. More About: Home Medical Equipment Services

Home health equipment rental services are a subsector of the home health care services industry. These retailers may also sell medical supplies to the consumer and commercial market, and they may offer equipment repair services. The home medical equipment rental industry reports revenue of $5.7 billion and includes about 717 businesses. However, many smaller firms operate in the market and drug stores may also compete by renting medical equipment for home use.

These businesses generally require patients to have a referral to have equipment rental covered by insurance. As such, home health care equipment rental services market themselves to physicians, hospitals, and other health care professionals. These businesses also bill Medicare/Medicaid or other insurance providers for the cost of rented equipment.
