What’s the Best Way to Approach a Local School District Ad Sale?
Shay Gosha, an account executive for American Spirit Media, has been a media sales rep for only a few years, but during one quarter in 2025, closed over $83,000 in sales. For her local school district ad sale, Gosha approached the decision-makers with human-verified research from AdMall.
“I used AdMall to identify the opportunity with the [local school] district and develop the ‘Warrior Award’ campaign, which recognizes outstanding students and faculty/staff each month in partnership with [a local university],” said Gosha.
What specific parts of AdMall helped with the local school district ad sale?
“The industry insights, competitor information, and business profile gave me a clear understanding of the district's needs and showed me how other organizations were positioning similar partnerships,” said Gosha. “That allowed me to create a customized proposal instead of making a generic sales pitch.”
“AdMall also made me feel much more confident and credible when approaching the advertiser. Having data-backed insights and relevant examples helped me have a more strategic conversation focused on solutions and community impact. Rather than simply selling advertising, I was able to present a partnership that aligned with their goals and demonstrated that I had done my research.”
What’s next for Gosha following the sale?
“[The local school district ad sale] was my first sale using AdMall,” said Gosha. “The campaign was designed to run throughout the 10-month school year and was sold as a $3,000 per month sponsorship, for a total campaign value of $30,000.”
“It created long-term visibility for the sponsors while providing ongoing recognition for the school district.”
“[AdMall] definitely exceeded my expectations. It gave me the confidence, preparation and information I needed to build trust with the client and ultimately close the opportunity. It has quickly become one of my favorite sales resources, and I look forward to using it to uncover and develop many more opportunities.”
